Event: Awards Evening – Hills M2 Ideas Competition
Venue: Macquarie University
Attendees: 150 pax
The Brief: Transurban launched a nationwide competition for innovative ideas to transform an unused site next to the Hills M2 Motorway in Macquarie Park. The aim of Sydney’s inaugural road enhancement project was to engage the community and collect a broad range of creative and artistic ideas. Transurban engaged The Event Room to produce an Awards Evening to showcase and announce the winning entries, one of which will be constructed and installed – making it visible by more than 100,000 motorists daily. Following Transurban’s commitment to promising a sustainable approach to all operations, the awards evening was held near the M2 site within a clear marquee at Macquarie University overlooking the beautiful Macquarie Lake. The event consisted of themed food carts and stations, industrial-styled furniture, and the use of raw materials for the Motorscapes Aerial Gallery which featured the winning and commended entries. To further support Transurban’s commitment to serve its local communities, The Event Room sourced a local jazz acoustic artist who was also a rising star and student from Macquarie University.
