Transurban launched a nationwide design competition searching for innovative ideas to transform an unused site next to the Hills M2 Motorway in Macquarie Park. The aim of Sydney’s inaugural road enhancement project was to engage the community and collect a broad range of artistic ideas.
Transurban engaged The Event Room to produce an Awards Evening to showcase the finalists and announce the winning design which would be constructed and installed – making it visible by more than 100,000 motorists daily. The event was held near the M2 site within a clear marquee at Macquarie University and consisted of themed food stations, industrial-styled furniture, and a Motorscapes Aerial Gallery featuring the winning and commended entries.
